Unconscious Motivator
- Everyone has a dominant unconscious motivator
- This motivator guides behaviour
- Each of these motivators can result in "Best Self" behaviours, or "Shadow" behaviours
- Like to Vs Must
- Want to Vs Need
Shadow Behaviours:
- Automatic negative behaviours
- Based on distorted assumptions
- Clouds judgement, limits innovation
- Damages relationships, creates frustration -
- Inhibits cooperation, destroys morale
- Undermines growth, productivity, profitability
Best Self
- Conscious, automatic, positive behaviour
- Based on realistic assumptions
- Improves judgement, innovation, relationships
- Improves teamwork, morale, growth, productivity and profitability
Triggers
- Any verbal or non-verbal action by another that stimulates Shadow behaviour.
- May be intentional or unintentional., conscious or unconscious.
Understanding PRINT
- People have Major and Minor PRINTS, but one PRINT always dominates
- No PRINT is better than any other
- The Minor PRINT influences the Major PRINT
- The Minor PRINT provides additional strategies to get the Unconscious Motivator of the Major PRINT met
- Different PRINTS can exhibit similar behaviours
- There are 72 PRINTS that come from 9 Major and 9 Minor PRINTS
